This piece beautifully depicts the powerful moment from 1 Kings 18, where the fire of heaven descends to consume Elijah’s altar. Ruby, Citrine, and Garnet stones represent the fiery flames, while 12 stones in total symbolize the 12 stones Elijah used to repair the Lord’s altar. The prophet Elijah is shown with his arm raised, pointing to the slopes of Mount Carmel, where the prophets of Baal flee towards the Kishon brook in defeat. Below his burned altar blue stones represent the water in the trench, which the fire licked up. The scene is completed with the waves of the Mediterranean and the rain clouds on the horizon, symbolizing the end of the drought.
