A story that ends with the death of the protagonist is usually not a good story, Unless his or her death is the only solution for a complicated situation at the end of the drama. In this case, it becomes a good story to remember.
Samson, the hero who fought against the Philistines, was blessed with a mighty physical strength given to him by God. He hid the secret source of his powers for a long time, but finally, in a moment of emotional weakness, he revealed it and immediately his enemies took advantage of the exposed information. His long hair, his secret, was shaved during his sleep. God had departed from him. When he woke up, surrounded by the enemy's soldiers, he didn't have the power to fight back as he was used to. The Philistines made him blind and took him to Gaza, as a prisoner. During his time in prison, his hair slowly started to grow again.
And then, one day, he was taken by the officers to be humiliated in public as their worst enemy in captive, during an event of offering to Dagon, their idol God. He was stationed between the pillars of the building. Then he prayed to God and asked to be given his strength back, just once more. "And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars which supported the temple and he braced himself against them, one on his right and the other on his left. Then Samson said, "Let me die with the Philistines!" And he pushed with all his might and the temple fell on the lords and all the people who were in it." (Judges 16, 29-30)
Samson is bracing himself against the pillars in the lower middle part of this pendant and everything around is collapsing. By the mighty strength given back to him, his death became his greatest victory.
